I have completed the room but I can't get to completing the challenge, because even on my best attempt there's one too many roach queen that ends up pressing the pressure plate.
Any suggestions?

The trick is not to kill any more queens than you have to -- thin them out enough, on both sides, to avoid the plate getting hit.
