Equipment lying on the ground is not destroyed by an explosion.

It doesn't look like this is a result of a behavior change. I think explosions have simply never destroyed equipment. I don't recall having seen it anywhere before, I'd have raised a bug thread years ago if I had. So I feel reasonably confident that this won't break anything.

This definitely feels like the kind of change that's going to break *something*.

For instance, there's an accessory in bomb range at Break Out of Jail! : Cell Block D : 1 South, 1 West. I think this is part of an accessory chain that you do with a speed potion or something.

A different effect is the ability to bomb item slots to avoid losing items. This trick might make Accessory Training Facility easier. If you make item slots immune, there's still a chance that bombing a sword to build-your-own-disarm-token is exploitable somewhere.

Well spotted on Break out of Jail, that;s intended that you use the speed potion to survive 3 bomb hits, reducing your HP to 1/8th. Can't remember if there's a way to cheat this with another accessory, but the intended method would indeed result in the destruction of the Wall Walking token.

I played through Accessory Training Facility but couldn't see a way to theoretically cheat the system by blowing up empty slots with a bomb, the main blocker is the force arrows, not the empty slots.

Regardless, this proves there is something that will break with this change. I'll think about it some more but am now leaning towards not making this change.

Ah. Now that I've played through this properly, I can see you're right. I thought the arrows were strictly one-way, but you can turn around to grab stuff on room edges.
I'll think about it some more but am now leaning towards not making this change.
Right. It's not that the change couldn't be made, but it'd have to come with more research and room updates like the disarm token change (which wasn't exactly a simple task - those room updates are still not live).

I've decided to not go ahead with this change. Equipment will remain un-destroyable by explosions.
