In the F1 help in TSS, under "Predefined script vars", there is a list of player command input variables, allowing (for example) the user's keybinding for "move north" to be inserted into text.

Hyperme informs me that these work in DROD RPG, but they are absent from the F1 help.

EDIT: Confirmed that $_CMD_SwingClockwise$ works correctly and displays "W". However, numpad keys do not display in RPG (they do in TSS).
