Even when I look in the editor, it's hard to figure out what to do. I could use some more direction than what's provided.

Here's what I have worked out so far. After clearing 1N1E and 1S1E, an NPC in 2E has a song with hints for how to actually advance.

One line of the song is "Imprison the eyes, then kill your minds":

Doing the above on its own allows me to reach 1N2E. Going all the way down that branch, I get a clue for it:

Here's what I've worked out from that clue.

At this point I use another line from the song, "Or fill them with blood, or something that rhymes":

At this point, I can solve 2S1E and access some other rooms. Solving them gives me access to two scrolls:

The main thing I'm not sure on here is what "clear the bend" means. The best guess I have is that I'm supposed to finish 2S2E, but that room doesn't seem clearable in its initial state.

I feel like I might be missing a step somewhere, but if I am, I have no idea what it is.

The scripting seems to be checking for

I haven't yet figured out how to make this happen, though. I can clear 2S2E and come back here with the aumtlich alive, but I'm short a keg.

Okay, so I've gotten to the secret room in 3E and I'm just very confused.

This is NOT a walkthrough for the entire level. It's a walkthrough for the final room (the map room). The map room is a bit involved. I think I'll just post the entire sequence here, so people playing through the entry can open the secret tags until they get up to where they are at.

The gist of it is that you need to return to the entrance and complete the level a different way.

Before you do that:

From the level entrance (using Pathway variable from in-game):

If Pathway is equal to 18 at this point:

Note that at any point entering a room other than the room specified will reset your Pathway variable and you'll have to go back to the entrance and restart from Pathway 1.

I haven't had much success following the above directions. I even started the level over, and it still became confusing which rooms to complete when, and using what method to do so.

Would anyone be able to post a complete step-by-step walkthrough for this level?

mauvebutterfly's directions are correct for the final pass, but the setup can be confusing. So I'll describe what I did in full.

Just a note: this won't work unless you go to 2S2E first. (There are no kegs to use to cut gel upon entering the room for the first time)

-To review, those steps are:

This is also no good unless the green door in 2S2E is already down, so clear that room before doing the ritual twice.

-Return to 1S2E. It won't be cleared, so this time do the full ritual (same as last visit, plus clear all the mud). This should remove the green doors in 1S2E and the force arrows down the secret passage.
-At this point, return to the entrance and follow mauvebutterfly's directions. If you want to clear the other available rooms, do it now before returning to the entrance.

If you do the ritual but leave mud, the green door in 2S2E disappears. At least, that's what happened when I did it.

The green door in 2S2E is scripted to disappear if you do the ritual a certain way. When I complete the level I never actually clear 2S2E.

Of course you'll still need to complete the room on at least one playthrough for high score purposes.
