Can we have some sort of post numbering in a thread? I'm unaware of one at the moment, and in bigger threads its easier to refer back to other posts (I'm aware of the quoting system, but this'd save page size/download time). I don't think it should be too hard to implement and it could be my christmas present .

Yeah, theres already a MessageId thing in the link when you mod someone etc, so its probably not too hard to make a direct link to a post. If this does get done, can the Latest Post column on the main page have an actual link to the latest post? I keep clicking on the link there trying to go to the thread but of course end up going to that persons profile.

I don't mean the message ID, I mean like in the thread the posts are numbered.

I think this is a good idea. It will also help in long threads where it is possible to get lost a bit.

You mean numbering the post's relative position in the thread?
Well, we already get it broken into pages so you have up to 30 posts per page, which means you can number them 11, 12, 13, 14, ... 19, 1A, 1B, 1C... 1U, and then the second page have the posts 21-2U and so on, and so forth.

All this is very nice, but then people will go saying stuff in their posts like "That dude in topic blabla post 12J said this and that", and other people will go to topic blabla page 6 and delete their posts and then the first people will have the post reference out of sync, and other people will go "wtf d00d wh4t w3r3 j00 5m0k1ng, 12J i5 n0tH1nG L1k3 7h47!" and then yet more other people... aargh! help! help me, I cannot stop typing, my fingers are moving on their own, I can't feel my hands! I can't feel my hands! MwAhAhA, MaUrOg, YoU'Re MiNe At LaSt helphelphelp NoW yOu WiLl PaY fOr AlL yOuR cRiMeS! ohshiiiiiiiiiii
