Hello,
As a player with 15 years "practice" in DRODing I still not sure where to find on the forum, if there is a new game or it is better not to wait...or something else

If there's a bar on the front page of the forums, that means something is happening of some sort. The current bar is for the Twisty Little Passages book, which are like miniature DROD RPG style puzzles, but in book form! There was a kickstarter last year.

Illumination forum is also probably good to check as an major announcements will be happening there. At the moment there is no major game in the works, but there is a new Smitemaster's Selection being worked on which you can read about here or maybe audition for here if you're so inclined.

Yes, all this I know.
But, for a guy like me, that uses forum only from time to time - and loves DROD by the way, the forums lacks some place, where one could check current, official works, plans. Some schedule or timeline. I guess same goes for new players.
Now it only remains to dig deep through holds of forum tar.. 😁

It is not a DROD or Caravel game, but you could check out The Godkiller. You'll notice similarities in gameplay, and it's by the guy that made the first DROD game... me!
