This thread brought to attention something that seems very wrong. Setting the "Wait for entity type" command to "Evil eye (active)" means the condition can never trigger. And the "generate entity" command is also incapable of spawning a pre-woken eye. Nothing happens when it tries.

The normal "Wait For Evil Eye" catches both sorts, which makes sense (although as I said in t'other thread, it'd be good to be able to differentiate them)

You can fake generating an evil eye by creating a custom creature that looks like an awake evil eye and just has the commands "Appear" and "Turn into Monster", then use "Generate Entity type CustomEvilEye"

There are some minor differences - you can Generate monsters under a weapon, but something won't Appear under a weapon (and custom monsters automatically get generated invisible and need to appear first) You can perhaps get around this with Ghosting and stuff, but I always had a 1-turn delay somewhere.

PR

Evil Eye (Active) will work both with Generate Entity and Wait for Entity Type

Can confirm in 5.1.1.alpha.2020-10-16 that you can now generate active evil eyes and they start chasing the player immediately, and can check for active Evil Eyes with Wait for Entity type. This only detects active eyes, not inactive ones, and works for active eyes that used to be sleeping eyes, and active eyes generated directly.
