This one gave me a lot of trouble too. I've included a demo, but here are some hints if you want to give it another go on your own first:

1. If the tar in the SW grows too much you can't get to the mother, so you have to get there within a reasonable amount of time.
2. It can be hard to get all of the tar cleaned up in time, so you might have to go to the bottom left corner before clearing all the tar in the other parts of the room.
3. You can drop trapdoors to contain the tar in nicely cuttable shapes while dealing with other tar elsewhere.
4. If you leave enough trapdoors up, it is possible to return to the entrance, and then still get to the tar mother later.
My demo is about 6 minutes long. You might want to use the left and right arrows to fastforward through some of the tar chopping.
