Why, is the poll going to be used for like benchmarking or something? 'Marketing research shows J2RH is expected to be 10% strategy game, 22% FPS and 17%... we frankly have no idea.'

It's interesting to see what decisions people make here when they aren't influenced by what other people have already said. In this particular poll, a vote means a little more, because if you authored a fake screenshot that fooled somebody, receiving even one vote can be a little thrill. If consensus-building happens in the posts and we influence votes in one direction, then things aren't as interesting and some authors lose out.

We also didn't want to make the contest too dependent on authors locating obscure information. So for example, if you read in a post from last year that there would absolutely be no pits in JtRH, then many people would avoid voting for the 2nd entry. That would make it a shortcoming that the author didn't spend several hours researching past posts on DROD.net.

Erik already said that they wouldn't be included since they were added late and were obviously from those people whose e-mails were caught in his spam filter and delayed.

I don't want to say any more, except that Slug has only ever posted in threads to do with JtRH, and nowhere else, even though he's been on for 2 weeks. Can you see what I'm trying to say? His screenshot was mysteriously 'filtered' by Gmail. What did he put in the title? ViagraScreenshot? Or did he send one at all? Does he even exist?

I don't know about Slug, but he gave us a legitimate entry and I'm not going to worry about him. In general, I am very tired of forum users that play cute tricks on us, i.e. creating extra accounts and pretending to be different people. It's very easy to fool us this way, although we catch some people at it. I don't understand why people think they are accomplishing something by doing this. It ends up generating extra work for Schik or me to deal with. And I get really upset. Schik, too. Not funny keystone-cops-bumping-into-each-other "upset" or slip-on-banana-peel "upset". No, more like my-soul-is-tired "upset" or i'm-stupid-for-trusting-people "upset".

So if anybody is playing dishonest games with us right now, please, I am asking you to help me out and just stop.

Ah...I just realized that you're wondering about Slug being from Finland. I just checked the Statistics page (the link at the top) and it says we have nine members from Finland. I've been there myself, for a day or so in the summer. Helsinki. Nice place.
