Is there some hidden interaction? Seems like I have to make thing multiply at least 3 times, every multiplication delays it by 4 turns, and there are less than 12 turns to spare.

On the turn immediately after it fully forms, it won't split again if you step on an activator tile. It will split on the turn after.

You can use this to get to the last activator tile just in time, leading the RegeneratorO out just ahead of the briar. If you need more help, I can provide a demo.

Ok, this is supercounterintuitive, because it does split on the turn it forms...
