When you select a hold in Change Location, it plays a demo of the last room you played in that hold.

However, this process has been known to cause crashes sometimes (with long demos, corrupted demos, etc.), so it might be best to have an option to disable it.

I appreciate you re-focusing on this issue.

If there are still outstanding bug reports for crashes happening here, would you please bump those also?

I'd generally prefer that we fix the crashes instead of applying band-aids to the problem.

I think I was mainly considering the Picross rooms in TSS and a specific problem somebody ran into (I want to say it was disoriented) but I don't remember details about the latter. It might have been an issue where the active demo became corrupted? I'll see if I can find it and check if it was fixed.

If memory serves, there are plans to optimize the scripting for the Picross rooms - however, there's still the more general problem of a process-heavy demo lagging/crashing if it's the active one, which I imagine is significantly harder to solve.

Anyhow, I was just suggesting this as a failsafe in case other issues like this pop up more than as a specific workaround to known issues. It might also be an option that some people would prefer to use in general.

Not quite the same, but this post was prompted by a Restore Screen crash which I traced back to a specific demo.
