When attacking a snake enemy from the tail, blood splats fly out from the head of the snake away from where you are, and blood splats fly out of you away from the direction of the snake's head, despite the fact that it is the tail you are fighting. The attached screenshot shows this in action.

Maybe this is expected, after all it's the same with tarstuff mothers, only for me it sort of makes sense for tarstuff mothers but not for snake tails, where I always imagined the tail would be the part that was doing the actual fighting. Y'know, as opposed to the tarstuff mothers where it's the whole blob of tarstuff and... uh....

Man, this game is weird when you really think about it.
