CLARC is a puzzle game about robots on a grid. It feels like a distant cousin to Drod because of the grid-based movement and having a story that progresses by solving puzzles, but there are several differences.
CLARC is simpler than Drod in not having so many elements and making them interact only in the four main directions. A lot of early puzzles focus on moving blocks to block or reflect lasers, and placing them on buttons. Some challenges are based on timing. It's not turn-based, but often feels close to it because of the grid.
I don't know how hard it gets towards the end, but the early puzzles didn't look very difficult. It seems to add new elements as you progress, but since I haven't seen the whole game, I don't know how many different elements there are.
The graphics look like stylized cel-shaded 3D models and the view is isometric, with four fixed orientations. I think it looks pretty nice, but that is a matter of taste of course.
It is available on GOG and has been Greenlit on Steam, and there appear to be Android and iOS versions. I believe you can get a free lite version for some mobile platforms at the appropriate places. The
developer's Google+ page hasn't been updated since last year. I don't know what is up with that.
You can read about user experiences and issues at the
GOG forum for the game. The last update on the
Steam Greenlight page is also from last year, so who knows if the developers changed their mind about releasing on Steam.
I added it to my wishlist after watching someone stream it yesterday. It seems like it'll be a fun game to play some day.
