We already have _MyColor variables for NPCs, which apply color filters on top of the NPC to give them different color shades.

Analogously, it might be useful to have a _PlayerColor global variable, which applies a similar color filter to the player character (and their sword, as appropriate). That would allow scripts to dynamically change the player character's color. This could be useful if, for example, the player were a wubba, and scripts were to indicate overall statuses (or inventory items) through player's color.
