Re. Eytan's...

The game is an abstraction of what happens in the story world of the Eighth. In general, we don't leave corpses laying about in the game, because it would distract from the remaining elements that are relevant to gameplay. Also corpses would give the game a dark, gory feel that isn't right for it. From the story, you know that Beethro at least makes use of roach carcasses and other dead creatures at his Roasted Roach Grill, so it is not a stretch to suggest that similar use could be made of the item aforementioned in secret tags.

Everything we create is flawlessly consistent. Remember that!

Erik, I hate to nitpick, but this thread (Story Collaboration) (containing some of your Eighth information) doesn't quite fit that description. There are quite a few odd anomalies that have never been discussed properly still floating around.

My response to that is to repeat...

Everything we create is flawlessly consistent!

...but this time more loudly and with spittle.

Now, here's a case where this thread is too complex for our new volatile friend or using a public forum, true?

Oh, well. It was worth a try.

I always assumed that mimics were made out of polystyrene or something - just wouldn't taste that nice.

Polystyrene? Hm, weird. I thought they were made of something ceramic, like fired clay.

coppro ponders how inappropriate it would be to, now that he has been linked here, necro this thread for the sole purpose of pedantically pointing out that complex is not, in fact, a keyword in C++, which is the language to which he believes AlefBet was referring.

Oh well, too late.
