That depends on the snake's horizontal/vertical preference. Snakes prefer to move horizontally on turns ending in 0-4, vertically on turns 5-9. If the snake in the picture is on horizontal preference, he will try to move towards the decoy, but if he's on vertical preference, he can't do that, so he'll move north.

A much simpler way: blow up the bombs with the drone while the snake is still *outside* the fortress but while you're in a position to lure it in (and over the pressure plate) immediately afterwards. Then chop it to bits at your leisure, there are plenty enough places to get it stuck and attack it from the tail...
