Is there anything I can do to make crumbly/secret walls stand out and be obvious?

You can install a graphic mod that replaces the room styles with ones that make secret walls obvious. Spiders are harder, since they have their invisibility coded into them.

Spider are much easier - press F3.

For crumbly/secret walls there is a simply installed add-on I found using the search function on the forum. Unfortunately the walls look VERY ugly now:

However, my eyes are so bad that I have to use it.

Best wishes,

The mod adS refers to is here: http://forum.caravelgames.com/viewtopic.php?TopicID=9860&page=0#101967

You can replace the image easily enough with a basic graphics editor if you just want to make it a solid colour or something. Making a different one to suit each individual room style would obviously be far more work.

I'm not sure of the rules regarding posting small subsets of modified DROD assets. The specification says the tiles are replaced rather than overlayed (png with alpha would have been perfect). So, I've extracted the cracked wall tilesets and am planning on replacing a corner with a bright color. This would be for KDD and JtRH as I don't have .tim files or equivalent for tCB, RPG, or tSS and havent gone digging into their tilesets yet.

I managed to get tilesets working for DROD 1 and 2 but 3+ don't use the same INI and TIM setup for replacing tiles. Is there any info on the 5/5.1 engine? Can transparent overlays be specified? It would avoid any copyright issues (I'm unsure if the tileset I made is ok to distribute).

Yes, it's okay to distribute replacement tiles for this purpose. Thanks for putting this together!

Yeah, yeah, I know, necropost, mehhhh. But this seems like the right place to bring this up.

I'm currently making a set of Find The Secret Broken Wall tiles that's intended to match all of the room themes that are in TSS. Obviously this is a bit of an undertaking, though I'm past the hard part (getting access to the tiles I need) already.

Since DrCron's crumbly-wall mod doesn't appear to have actually been released (given that their only two posts were in this thread), I wonder, assuming that I can get what I'm doing working properly, does Dr. Mr. Imer's approval in the previous post here extend to what I'm doing, if I wanted to actually make it available to members of the forum?

I guess I'm going to have to dig through my old files... I'm pretty sure I just replaced a couple textures after hunting them down in the ini files. Since they were modified from caravel content I didn't want to redistribute without an ok. Now I have no idea where the files are... Sorry
