Hi,

This is far as I've been able to get in this room (see attached JPG file). But from this point on I'm dead, no matter what I do. If I hang around long enough to kill the queen in the lowest "box", the queen in the box with one roach escapes. When I try to run her down the other roaches soon escape, and I'm dead meat. If I concentrate on killing the queen in the box with the one roach, then the queen in the lower box escapes.

So my question is: can I possibly win from this position? If not, how can I play this room to get myself into a better position?

It's definitely possible to win from this position. The easiest way (it seems to me) would be to just hide in the middle of the room, using the wall for cover, until all 4 queens escape. Then, wait between spawn cycles, and run east. This will make all the queens bunch up in the top left of the screen, and they won't be able to escape south. Then it's just a matter of timing your attack right to get to them.

What you must not do is step above any queen - if you allow a queen to run south you'll be surrounded from two sides, which would be bad news.

That position is possible to win even if all queens escape.

Thanks. Got it. I used a combination of these 2 suggestions...Delver's to get the next 2 queens, and eytanz'to get the last 2. On to level 8.
