Oddly enough, most mathematicians I know of have some pretty insanely ignorant (and extreme) beliefs when it comes to politics, sociology, economics, etc. I would guess it's because (for some) they try to apply mathematical logic to the outside world and fail to realize how much psychology plays a role in the heuristics we rely upon for verification of information.

So, I just don't buy it that you suddenly went all rogueish, and dissembled about the size of the new hold, I'm going with the theory that it slipped out, and you're trying to cover your tracks. My (large) bet stands.

I think it's going to turn out that there are a large number of non-puzzle rooms in TSS, ones that count towards rooms count, but not to the marketing schtick of "over 500 puzzle rooms".

I mean, can you imagine the size of the post-mastery level? There's well over a decade of random scribbles by the dev team to incorporate into the Dreamplane/Undercity equivalent.

Since this information doesn't seem to be available, I'll post it here; I've just counted all the rooms in the official holds (puzzle and non-puzzle) to give some idea of what has come before - I've also included the number of rooms in the post-mastery levels in case you want to take that into account in your guess (also take into account I may have mis-counted...):

King Dugan's Dungeon 2.0 - 408 rooms, 301 scorable (including 40 in the final level which isn't in the original version of KDD)
Journey to Rooted Hold - 474 rooms, 326 scorable (including 72 in the post-mastery level)
The City Beneath - 529 rooms, 273 scorable (including 53 in the post-mastery level)
Gunthro and the Epic Blunder - 424 rooms, 265 scorable (including 22 in post-mastery level)

My guess would be: 871 rooms

NB. So, actually the information above has already been posted...still, no harm in repeating it...

I'm not sure. I think (?) you meant to write something inductive like:

∀x x∈ℕ ⇒ x+1∈ℕ (?)

...but you (probably) actually meant something simpler like:

∃x x∈ℕ ∧ P(x)

...where P(x) means "x is the correct number of rooms in TSS". (You don't need to use induction to generate ℕ, because ℕ must already have been defined for you to refer to it as the domain of discourse.)

∃x x∈ℕ ∧ P(x) should be true as long as both: P(x) is formalized in first-order predicate calculus, and P(x) is true for some finite x.

I disagree. There are infinitely many characters that can be made, and an arbitrarily large number can be in one room at the same time (generate entity...). Thus, when scripts are allowed, there are at least an infinite number of possible rooms.
