Yes, the room is solvable. There is a tunnel under the scroll, allowing you to move past the green door once the bomb has exploded. Then you just have to fight off the mud babies efficiently and get to the mud mothers before the mud grows too much.

×I went for the SW mothers first, then the central ones, then round behind the black door for the eastern ones. The scroll reminds you "brains cannot move"... it's referring to the brain at the far south. That brain cuts off the mud babies from approaching you from both sides, so you want to leave it alive until the mothers and babies are dealt with.
