The first gate opens when the fegundo moves onto the pressure plate at the bottom of its area.
The second gate opens when all the monsters are defeated. The doors open in sequence each time you pick up a piece of trash.
The third gate closes if the fegundo hits the pressure plate around where it starts, or if something steps on the plate south of the oremites.
So, you have to kill all the enemies, and get the fegundo to the bottom plate without hitting the other plate. This last part is the puzzle.
