I did get a few hints from this board. I did the second playthrough on maximum difficulty (first one was on minimum difficulty), which made some of the fights a lot more challenging but never really caused me to worry about food/freezing/etc.

I would really like to figure out how to get my honour up and earn the flame sword, but I'm not sure I'm ready for a third playthrough as a fighter just yet.

Well, I went ahead and did my third playthrough based on the new information on the forums about how to get Balmung. I too was successful at getting the sword, and here are my stats:

I also recorded where nearly all of my points came from, so if I were to type it up it would be a good start of a complete points list (for the fighter/warrior class, at least).

I ended up with score for sorceress (without any other skills than basic) 43 cross class.
Also, i got message on score screen Promoted Yes

I wonder what are those?

Check your Honor score. If it's 90 or above, you probably got "promoted" even though I'm not sure it does anything for non-Fighters.

Okay, I finally went ahead and triggered the endgame. This is my result as a sorceress:

And I have NO idea where all those missing points are. >__< I'm sure I've missed a few things, but 38 points seems like a lot, especially since I've helped/impressed every single citizen, got all the spells and recipes, and solved pretty much every quest that was available to me. Ah well, will just keep looking.

My guess is that getting the Lightning Bolt spell counts as promotion, since it's incredibly OP (on middle difficulty, three Lightning bolts were enough to take Fenrir down). However, getting all the spells makes more sense, so you're probably right.

I can confirm that for a sorceress there is NO requirement to reach 90% honour in order to get the "Promotion: YES" designation.

-Turn the "doom" Squirrel into the "bloom" Squirrel,
-Choose the humble response when introducing myself.

Honorable actions I did;
1. Didn’t steal the boots. (City, upper level)
2. Gave Angrimm the golden apple (In the keep east of the lake)
3. Did not tell Angrimm a false tale
4. Gave Sigurd the mead of poetry
5. Asked Kraka to stop thieving,
6. Reunited the lovers (destroyed Fremont's shield to do so)
7. Accepted Skrymir's challenge,
8. Saved Alviss, and did not mock him.
9. Burred Guard in front of the troll cave in chapter 3
10. After bringing the skull of Sigrun’s husband to her, I put the skull back, closed the casket, locked the crypt, and returned the key to Sigrun.
11. Ignored money pouch in the tomb.
12. Picked no lock, or sneek around
13. Did not steal the tinderbox in the Keep. (found it on a bandit’s corpse)

Things that MIGHT have affected my score;
1.Displayed Andvari's armor, as per his request, but only in taverns, and not EVERY person.
2.Gave Gem to Snorri, but did not chose the “I’ll never speak to you again” option.
3.Fought/killed Fenrir after Eitri confirmed that he murdered his father.

In the Sorceress playthrough I had no cross-class skills selected. So what does the 41 mean? That 41 of the gathered points were gathered using the wrong way for a sorceress?

The fighter game was on tutorial level difficulty (2) and the sorceress game on the middle level (3).

You know, even if you read the walkthrough within a week. Even if you played it before within the last year. I seriously doubt, without a photographic memory, you would be easily able to get 100% honor, or very low honor, or perfect points on a class, without following something step by step. More so, if you try not to recall, from such.

You can do that entering a game, it takes practice but you can to some degree block thoughts from previously playthroughs on a surface level while playing.

With me the challenge is always more intense: I don't feel like I have truly beaten a game until I do everything ability/stat/skillwise, I can, as early as possible and save the story events/lots of content, for when it is done.

This so you have the abilities/items, and game enough left to enjoy them.

If I get something really awesome at the absolute end, I don't care as much. I mean it doesn't matter then.

I also like for it to be a defiant challenge, to get it early. It brings out my spiritual warrior side in play, hahaha.

The point is, as in life, which is a game too btw, your score still matters, even at this date, as do the challenges you set for yourself and the meaning you give it.

Try to see games as a metaphor for life and use them to train the mind and build the will and imagination. That's why I believe games like these are treasures and a service to the world.

Radiant and fuzzy are serving mankind as much as the noble writer, or medical research scientist to be sure.

Maybe more so, if you consider the effect on the heart and mind, such games can have and how that would help such as the aforementioned, see the world in new ways. Aesthetics are vital. Interaction is key.
