Why don't the trapdoors fall when the monsters step on them? What do you guys think? :huh

The monsters are either too light or too speedy

Even serpents?

Maybe there's a mechanism underneath that only drop trapdoors when a human steps on them. (Except for the 'Neather, he's a special case).

Actually, it's pretty clear that trapdoors aren't weight-dependant - if they were, they would fall with you still on them. You can stand on a trapdoor for hours, it will only fall when you move off.

So yeah, I think Red Hawk's in the right direction.

Or maybe the Neather contorls all the trapdoors through a panel. He also has a high-tech surveilence system in every room to spot when he leaves a trapdoor...... :?

What? The Eighth doesn't have high tech stuff? Or do they....

Hmmm... I'll have to ask Erik, but I reckon it's got something to do with the way Beethro moves, not so much how much he weighs. Beethro's always on the defensive, so his steps are a lot heavier than normal.

Well Beethro has got that big sword, and the neather only has a hammer. I always thought that the snakes could spread their weight over their long body, and that's why they didn't fall when snakes went on them? MAybe it would be good if there was a new monster that did trigger trapdoors in JtRH? It could be used in a sort of level 15 type thing, where you had to make it trigger all the trapdoors. Or would that be too annoying?

We have been basically assured that something will drop trapdoors in JtRH besides Beethro.

Yes, I seem to remember it being mentioned on many occasions.

We also saw Ketchup and Puppies mentioned on several similar occasions. Doesn't mean they're in the game.

Okay, could you please tell me where to find one of those many occasions? I've searched the board for posts that mention trapdoors by Mike, Erik and Matt. None of them mention a new way to drop them, as far as I can tell.

Sorry, Hawk, "seem to remember" just doesn't cut it. You're going to need some proof before assuring people about something like this.

Game on,

I never mentioned it. I know that at least.

In fact, I don't think there's anything new in JtRH that drops trapdoors. But I could be wrong/out of my mind.

What will we be assured is in JtRH next?

Matt

Didn't you say in that insider news group that JtRH will have changing weather?

Actually, yes, yes I did. JtRH will have changing weather.

Of course, it all happens underground, so you can't see it and it doesn't affect anything. But it does have changing weather.

Matt
