.. today I made this:



- not entirely from scratch of course; it was a flat-pack sort of thing, but I had to cut various pieces to size so that it would fit between the existing gate posts. It's not craftsman's standard by any means, but it's holding together.
Feeling quite chuffed about it!

You may dare my dear, indeed you may. I'm not sure that I would see it as cute - just functional; a bit 'rough and ready' to be honest, but I am quite proud of it nevertheless.

Unfortunately when I tried it between the existing gate posts it fitted beautifully at the top, but not at the bottom; it was just a nudge too wide. The gate posts are clearly not completely upright. I will have to find a way of taking a wee bit off the sides <sigh>.
