I am baffled here. I can kill 10 queens, but the remaining 14 produce offspring sufficiently fast to eventually overwhelm me. This and 3N 1W are the only things holding me up.

×I was able to kill 8 queens on the top side, and then kill all the queens on the bottom side. Though you can't explode the bombs, the bombs themselves can make it easier to switch between the two sides of the room.

I can get as many queens as I can at the top or bottom, but then I inevitablly have to retreat to a corner or die, and by that point, the queens make enough roaches to outnumber my sword swings, so I basically end up in an unwinnable situation...

I just recorded a demo which I can post if you're totally stuck, but the advice bomber50 has posted so far should be enough to make it mostly a problem of roach management.

×Are you starting by killing some queens to the north, then moving to the southwest? I believe it's easier than starting with the south, despite the room's near-symmetry, because of how the turn order works out. (Though the opposite way is still possible.) You should be able to slowly push forward from the corner if you killed 8 northern queens before the first spawn.

×A useful trick when fighting roaches on the move is that you want them to be in a big line perpendicular to your direction of travel. Then you can just hold your sword diagonally and swipe them as you move.

Now there's another problem... I can't find where to go to import demos. Pathetic, I know.

Not pathetic, it's something you wouldn't figure out if you weren't told and didn't read the manual. (And who ever reads the manual? (DROD has an unusually good manual though.)) F6 brings up the demo playback screen for the room you're in, and there's an import button there.
