I think you may have messed up the placement of that last tile. I think you rotated it, when he said to play it as pictured.

I edited the tiebreaker rules into the first post, as I should have earlier. They are: The player tied for the most points who controls the largest contiguous area wins. If still tied, ignore that area and look at the next largest.
