Pet monsters (0)
I am imagining a monster that you do not need to kill, that is a goblin pet. When a goblin is in the room the R.O.U.S. (Stolen from The princess bride, rodents of unusual size) will beeline to the nearest goblin. When adjacent to a goblin, the goblin will move onto the R.O.U.S. From this point on, the goblin/R.O.U.S combo will move two spaces at a time in the forward arc (Facing north. Can move NW/N/NE). This is because the rodent jumps, meaning also that they can cross a one space wide gap. The mounted R.O.U.S. will be able to turn twice in a turn. If the pathing requires a single space, it will need to be directly facing the direction it wishes to move. The mounted R.O.U.S. will always have brained pathing.
However, if you move on to the square that the R.O.U.S is (And it has no rider) you can mount it. You will not be able to direct it in any way, but you can turn on top of it. So, it will sit still if there is no goblin in the room and move towards a goblin if there is one.
If the mounted R.O.U.S. is killed by things other than Adder, Bomb explosion, fallen bridge the rider (you or a goblin) will be expelled from on top away from the attack. This will follow mirror pushing rules excluding stabs. The stabs will just push you directly away.

He wasn't there again today
I wish that man would stay away
