I'll tell you this one is a TurboGrafx-16 game, since most people probably never had one of those. But that's your only hint, because it's the most distinctive music from any game on that system (not including music via Turbo's CD attachment, which appeared two decades before its time).

Feels like Castlevania, so I'd say Rondo of Blood. Never got the chance to play it on Turbografx though, so it's still a best guess.

I played Strider a lot on my friend's Genesis. (The one with Sword of Vermillion.) That game was great. It truly gave me a love for a Really Big Sword.

No, but it could have been an influence!

This is from the NES in the late 80's. It was a pretty hard game, more from being obtuse than outright difficult though. You could select from a host of different characters from the same family (even their "dog")

As long as we're still doing NES games, here's a song I think is pretty good. I'd be lying if I said I had fond childhood memories of the game this came from, since I only discovered the game a couple of years ago. But it's a fun game and I enjoyed playing it.

Yes, Suwako has the correct answer.

The Guardian Legend is kind of a weird cross between a shoot-em-up and the on-foot sections of Blaster Master. This isn't the "game recommendations" thread, though, so I'll just say that there were a couple of other tracks from the same game that I could have picked. Unfortunately there wasn't really anything "iconic" to pick like the first level theme from Blaster Master, though, so I just picked something that would be memorable to someone who'd already played the game.

Yes, I only passed the first and second tower, got stucked on the third or fourth, it's very hard. A great puzzle game with a good repetitive song.

I picked up the Adventures of Lolo just a couple of years ago and really loved it. I don't think I beat it all but the puzzles were great, for being so simple.

Batman, for the NES. I tried it on an emulator a few years back and enjoyed it but don't think I even got past the first level.
