It's somewhere around 50-100% longer than TCB by puzzle count. Puzzles are typically shorter by move count. Figuring them out is hard to compare.

If that translates to room count, we have a pretty good estimation guide for our Guess the Number of Rooms in TSS contest...

So if TSS has 793 rooms, 546 scorable, then it's 50-100% larger depending on whether you're counting total rooms or scorable rooms.

We already know how long it will take, because Jacob spilled the beans on the number of rooms, then pretended he was lying. (See the guess the number of rooms in TSS thread)

Based on this info I confidently predict TSS mastery by 2026.

Intervention by death notwithstanding.

Actually, based on Pearls' commentary, player death seems more likely .... maybe Elfstone and I could race between death and mastery.

I'm optimistic that as soon as Mike is done, he will release it. Of course, I have no expectation either, as expectations based on optimism can lead to disappointment. Hope that's not too pessimistic. Heck, I'll take the realistic point of view and say that it will be out when it's out.

I recall that TCB took me thirty hours (and seven seconds), which may also have counted times when I left DROD running during lunch or supper, since I wasn't careful about that back then. Nor was I nearly as experienced at DROD then--I had played KDD, A Quiet Place, Imperial Wandering, and most of Mysteries of the Deep, but couldn't handle some elements nearly as deftly as I do now. I'm definitely excited to hear that TSS could take 25 hours or plenty more, and even if that weren't true there would still be more than enough to be excited about.

TCB took me over 50 hours combined. GatEB took me about 20, and the other two took me about 30 a piece. So this should take me at least 50 hours.
