Is there a possibility to spawn a scroll using a script?

I want to make a scroll for each active quest, which updates itself when you've discovered something new and the quest goes on etc.

I already figured how I should do it with custom vars (Example: Wait for var aaaQuest_Ring 1, Build Scroll (With certain text) at 2,4, Wait for var aaaQuest_Ring 2, Build Scroll (With same text, plus an update) at 2,4.)

That is just the idea, it's now exactly how it goes, but I hope you get what I mean.

Hope someone can help me out :) I tried spawning an empty scroll using the myscript option, but one doesn't even spawn in the first place, and then I wouldn't know how to add some text to it.

Not sure if it's possible to add text to spawned scrolls but there's an easier solution. You can put text in variables and place a normal scroll with "$variable_name$".

With adding text to spawned scrolls I meant like overwriting the previous one, so it looks like more text had appeared while it's actually all re-written by the script.


Anyway, I am confused as to how I could do what you said exactly?

It's all in the game help files if you look for script commands -> set var, but here's a small example hold.

Oh, thought I made a reply on your post yesterday. I'm sorry.

Thank you, that is actually exactly what I wanted! Is there anything the game code can not do? :P

Cool, now I made it so that there's a quest journal for the player which he can see whenever he presses the CMD button.

Don't be silly. DROD is turing complete; you don't need to use code at all. But yes, the code can do anything too.

Yes, but as you will see in my level set currently in planning, "The Tower", the space contained in a room is unbounded.
