An idea that I thought would be interesting in a future DROD. Bladed Traps. The Core takes up one space and a blade takes up a space around it. These traps stay in one place until Beethro steps in front of the blade. The trap then moves in that direction until something stops it (wall, pit or Arrow). The Blade part can kill monsters, hit orbs and kill Beethro but the Blade Trap can't be killed.

If a blade hits a wall and can't fit into a tunnel when the core can, it stops. Pits do the opposite. The blade can move over pits but the core can't. If a Blade Trap moved, it can move again by simply stepping in front of a blade. Finally, Blade Traps can drop Trap Doors.

It does have a lot of puzzle potential, but it could get unnecesarily complicated. Still gets my worthless *STAMP* of approval.
