I contacted them, and either they completely missed the issue, or I didn't word myself correctly.
My mail to them:

×I have tried to make an order which I paid via PayPal. I have managed to reach the
PayPal page, but afterwards I was redirected to this url:
http://www.order1.net/jsp/paypal_il_x_reciever.jsp
And the page repeatedly reported Server Timed Out. When I added
https:// at the
beginning, the order went through:
https://www.order1.net/jsp/paypal_il_x_reciever.jsp
It took me some time to come up with this solution and in the meantime I have
tried to contact Plimus, with no avail - there is no general support email address
or contact form which made it impossible to reach you, which is a problem in
itself and Id love to see it fixed.
Nevertheless, probably PayPal is supplied with an invalid redirection URL (missing
https) which makes it impossible to place orders.

Ironically enough, I feel like
Josef from The Trial now, it seems so surrealistic.
Anyway, I will continue this and write another mail which, hopefully, will be understood.
