how do you do the bottom section, starting with the goblin? I presume I need to keep him alive, but how do you hit the eastern orb in time to prevent the door from closing?

Itried that but stil cant get to the orb in time. I can leave the goblin in his section but stil dont reach the orb before getting blown up or the other door closing
