The Spiral : The Spiral : 2 North, 1 East (0)
I'm often good at maze or spatial puzzles in other contexts, but I always seem to have trouble with this particular kind of challenge in DROD. I feel like I've tried every alternative.
If I try to lead the roach out of the maze the "front way," it works fine until the last E-W pathway, where I can't avoid getting it into the trap on the south. If I lead it first to the north (planning to take it out by the other path), I can't avoid catching it on the diagonal arrow on the left when I bring it south along the west side. Leading it immediately south would seem like a promising way to take it out on the other path, except it goes immediately into the blind alley eastward ending in an arrow trap.
Obviously (especially as nobody else has had trouble before) some part of my reasoning is faulty. Which?
