I should probably mention...

To try to stop the stupid spammers, the recent forum update also changes it so that users cannot post links (in posts, signatures, misc info, or homepage) until they have 12 rank points.

As such, it would be nice if, as a group, we modded up new users who seem like actual humans with an interest in DROD. On the other hand, if one of these "humans" tricks us and starts spamming when they hit 12, they can be stopped by modding them down.

That's a good idea, but is there an easy way to know who the recent members are? Is there a list by date of membership somewhere? Then it would be straight forward to keep an eye on their postings, progress etc.

I don't think it matters who's "new" and who's "old". Even "old" members with only 10 rank points will be affected by Schik's change.

So, when looking through the new posts of the day, if we see someone with 10 rank points acting coherent and interested in DROD, we might consider modding them up. I don't think we need to "monitor" members who don't post anything.

However, if you are curious about how "new" or "old" a member is, just look to the left, under their avatar. The date they joined is there.
