I know this is a dumb question but I don't get this. The second time I arrive in this room I have to get through the black gate, yes?

To do this I need to get rid of the mud? To do this I need to

Trouble is I don't seem to have enough and can't work out the best placement. I'm sure it's easier than this but may be not.

I seem to be completely stumped here.

I don't get why is there the fuse with the bomb and I don't come close to be able to get into the mud chamber with only the given decoys.

Any hints or pointers are greatly appreciated.

Also, what 'second time' is kingpr talking about?

As to the "second time" comment, I don't remember exactly how the progression through this entry works, but there's an entrance to the room where you start past the black door. This is probably why the bomb exists, or more accurately, why there are enemies that you can only kill with the bomb - otherwise, if you used the alternate entrance the room would count as cleared without having to solve the puzzle.
