I found four threads on this level, but none of them answered my question. Other people have said that the trick is that you have to clear the tar out of each section, but that's not my question.

But my question is, how would you ever get to that orb in the lower left? It's behind a sea of tar which at one point is only two units across.

A 2-wide tar block isn't always a barrier. There's a two-high section of tar just under the tar babies in this room. Is it indestructible?

In this room and others like it, you need to think about which tar forms are indestructible and which are destructible. How can you control the shape of tar? You can make it smaller by cutting it. But if you can't make it smaller, does that mean its shape can't change?
