I can't imagine I'd want to give up walking diagonally just for comfortable shoes. You'd have to be a pretty clever smitemaster to handle that.

I never did respond to this aaaaa
Either way, I'd say I'm closer to just kinda the normal Lawful-Neutral variety. All I can really think to compare myself as a character would be the protagonist of the Mega Man Star Force series, Geo Stelar...

My personal mindset about making holds is to create puzzles that provide a challenge for beginners, but still serve as fun little exercises for veterans.

I would wear a tight suit and cape. The suit would display the letters 'EAP', for Edgar Allan Poe.

My superpower would be to actually bring to live the lovely scenery from his stories to those people that I think deserve it :yes

Would that make you a hero or villain?

Are you judging my judging capacity?

Hero, villain, good, bad, those are just bourgeois categories. Who needs so many questions when you can have so much fun instead!

Hey, folks! I know I've been lurking here for a few weeks, not saying much, but better late than never, right? :D

There's not much to say about me, really. I guess I'm a big believer in hope and good and justice? (Hence my username.) On this forum, I'll do what I can do be an upstanding and productive member of society. I'm kinda bad at DROD, but I'll try my best to contribute.

Thanks for having me. See you around!

Hey welcome, I guess! I guess you and I kinda in the same boat regarding our DROD skills in a way? I've personally had an aversion from holds rated with a difficulty level of at least 7 brains (5.5 is probably my sweet spot for now).

Oh, now I see, Skell, you have the amazing power to change history at will. And edit forum posts. Also, you have seen places, I notice.
Well, who needs superpowers when there is vacation.

Welcome to the forum @Kaelyn and @Professor Tio (And anyone else who may be lurking in the shadows ready to join.

I definitely remember starting out with DROD and basically bonking on anything over 6 brains. This game can get super complicated and it can be nice to have some fun old-school 5ish brain holds to work through when you're starting out. There are plenty of fun holds at that level from back in the day, but newer holds do tend to skew on the harder side. There are a few newer holds that manage to capture that feeling of a fun romp though. I'd recommend checking out "The Adventure Of John"
http://forum.caravelgames.com/viewtopic.php?TopicID=42961
It's mostly hack & slash, but a fun little hold with neat level art. Delta Dungeon, Roaches and Walls, and Island of Adventure are also newish holds that are light on the difficulty and heavy on the fun.

Hello! Heard about DROD through Jon Sonnenberg, who did the soundtracks for three of the games. I'm a big fan of his music, so I figured I'd try the games, and here I am beating my head against the wall of King Dugan's Dungeon, lol.

Which Arnold would I be? The kind who has grown kids and is still somehow a badass. :)

Hi and thanks for the warm welcome! I like this thread.
About me: I hope I'm not insulting anyone when I say that I don't like Arnold Schwarzenegger one bit. I discovered the forum when I played Heroine's Quest for the first time, and I came to play Heroine's Quest because I was looking for a point and click adventure (or something similar) that wasn't based on the old and incredibly boring story of the hero rescuing the girl. Thank you for coming up with something fresh!
And since you asked me to describe my kind of hero_ine, I'm gonna go with Sydney Bristow, heroine of Alias, a tv show that should not have been forgotten. She knows what she wants, she goes around kicking asses and no matter what people throw at her, she always bounces back.
That enough for a start?
And, by the way: I registered mainly because I'm stuck in the Heroine's Quest rogue class and I think I'm really screwed this time, and wanted to ask a question about it. But now you have intrigued me with your mention of logic puzzles. I'll probably check that out first :D

Vainamoinen is a caracter I like more than any Arnold.
First because is one of the avatars you can choose on the 2002-03 Leylines game. And second, now that I did some research, I also like it because of the finnish god.

My motivation to enter here is about the old Leylines version.
I like it sooooo much. So now I'll go somewhere else to post my question about this precious geme.
Hasta la vista baby.:w00t

Eh, I'm not really a huge movie fan, to the point that I'm not sure I've ever watched a movie with Schwarzennegger in its entirety -_-
However, I'd go for another character and say that if I was a kitschy villain, I'd be Premier Cherdenko from Red Alert 3. A Tim Curry character from a game that caricatures low budget Cold War movies can't be that bad of a character to play with, right?

Hey all. How are you doing? I took my nickname from a minor character of the 1994 PC adventure game "Hell". I hope this is the right place to say hello...
