Picture yourself materializing suddenly from thin air, hunched over, completely naked, with blue electricity bolts whipping around you. Just like Arnold in Terminator!

"New user! New user! Everybody come look at the new user!"

Hello, and welcome to the Caravel Forum. I don't want to say too much here. From past experience, I can guess that you are already committed to a single mission. You want to post for help on getting past some tricky room in DROD. Am I right? I can see the cold, Schwartzeneggian resolve in your eyes, and believe me, I don't plan to stand in your way. That would be... a big mistake.

But might I suggest that there are some other areas on the forum that would also be valuable? I know you tend to make your own rules, (or at least you have a minimal set of available options popping up on your HUD that directs your behavior) but some knowledge of local customs is always useful for those times when you want to keep a low profile and blend in. So by all means, check out the Forum FAQ. Our webmasters take pains to make it an entertaining and relevant read.

We all know that your average, 21st-century automaton is nothing if not logical, so you might try your capabilities at solving logic puzzles. Or, you can get new level sets created by other users from the Hold Download Page. I expect your primary purpose is to influence future events, in which case participation in the Architecture Board is advisable. Here you can test out holds before they are released and perhaps influence authors to change them with your insightful feedback or very large gun. Or try out the monthly forum Contest for a chance to win a free game!

It occurs to me that I might have the completely wrong idea about you. I've been assuming you're some heartless cybernetic, intent only on direct solutions to your problems. But you might be more like Arnold from Terminator 3, who has a tough time expressing the deep love buried inside his metal exterior. Or you might be more of a Kindergarten-Cop or Jingle-All-the-Way Arnold. Who am I to jump to conclusions about what kind of Arnold you are? I suggest that you post a reply to this post explaining, for everyone, exactly which character portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger best matches your personality. Or, if that doesn't suit your fancy, describe any type of hero or villain that best fits you. Type your reply as slowly and articulately as you wish--we are patient and understanding, and even like that stuff. And if you find you enjoy this sharing exercise, also take a look at the lengthier but more expressive Questionnaire.

Inoffensively Yours,

-The Caravel Team

I'm afraid I haven't see enough Arnie films to make a judgement on this. And I don't think I want to be associated with said actor-turned-politician in any way.
However, I think I'll pick whichever role of his was most pedantic. You spelled "questionnaire" wrongly. :D

I'm trying to think of the movie where Arnold was most pedantic. That's difficult because Arnold is not quick to demonstrate the more esoteric aspects of his knowledge, although I'm sure they exist. Perhaps you are the Arnold of True Lies, who maintains a convincing nerd facade for part of the movie. Well, at least Jamie Lee Curtis was convinced.
You spelled "questionnaire" wrongly. :D
Bleh.

This topic could strongly benefit from a subtitle along the lines of "...or welcome to the DROD.net forum."

Or maybe I am more like Arnold's twin (played by Danny DeVito) in whatever the name of that movie was.
I believed it was called Twins :)

I'm probably more like the Arnold from Conan the Barbarian :D
j/k

I don't really know, probably End of Days Arnold.

I am most definitely Ahnold from Junior a film widely compared to Citizen Kane and Godfather, part II for its innovation, brilliant cinematography, outstanding acting and sublime screenwriting. A day without having seen this film is like a day without sunshine, and I hope someday to understand the depths of this film well enough to compose my doctoral thesis on the subject.

I'm the governor of California.

Hello, my name is Michael Abbott, I beat DROD a long time ago, and I've visited the forums on many occassions with nothing better to do, or alternatively, with many better things I should have been doing, but it never occurred to me to join. Because I generally don't use forums. Because I generally have nothing to say. Anyway, I'm going to go take money from the education sector and spend it on tax cuts for the rich; wish me luck.

See, this is the problem with Arnold-like personalities. You go around smashing things up, occasionally pausing to deliver a monotone one-liner. Don't you see how dehumanizing it all is?

Seriously, it's good to hear from a lurker. Hoping you find a few things to say now and then. :)

I'd have to go with the Arnold from "The Villain". Straightforwardly headed towards my goal while oblivious to the pitfalls around me. Plus, I really don't say much.:)

1. I have no idea what pedantic or esoteric means, even though I almost always get an A in english.

2. I always thought that the people who stood behind arnie in the movies had to be better actors, as they had to audition to get in whereas Arnie was invited to play a lot of his film roles.

3. Ignore number 2, I think that I am more of an Eraser Arnie, doing good things but getting nothing but crap from everyone. :~(

Being pedantic means following a procedure or rule extremely closely without flexibility. "Esoteric" means something that is only understandable/known to people with specialised knowledge, in this case, Arnold's inner personality is only known to those people who know a lot about him.

Wackhead_uk... Ok, I will admit that I *may* have been vaguely aware of his existence on the planet. But thanks for the clarification :)

But obviously, I am No Kind of Arnold. For one thing, his shoes are too big.

Ok, then I settle for Last Action Hero-Arnold. If I recall correctly he was a bit idealistic in this movie. Viewing the world Hollywood-like (strictly good/evil) is appealing to me. Yes, it is unrealistic, but it doesn't seem to bother him ;)

I'm more like the not-very old cartoon, Hey Arnold!'s, Arnold. You know, quiet, introspective, constantly learning from the surrounding universe around him, and possessing a funny-shaped head.

Oh, that Arnold. Well, I call Arnold from Running Man. Constantly striving just to stay one step ahead of the maniac system enclosing me, as millions watch for their amusement, heedless of the pain and suffering they implicitly permit. . .

Nah, actually, I don't watch too many movies. :blush I've beaten King Dugan's Dungeon and The Fool's Errand (screaming obscenities), and am currently working my way through Phil's Dungeon. Hi. :)
