There is no way to "dodge" an attack. To block an attack, your DEF must be higher than the enemy's ATK.

There is one special case: goblins' attacks can be dodged by keeping your sword at 45 degrees to them. For instance, if you need to get from the square south of the goblin to the square east of it, keep your sword NW (the only direction that is at 45 degrees to both).
