Okay, so after completing Simple Sword Tricks and not having that much trouble (less than where I'm stuck in KDD), I move on to Speed Potions and I see this.



I go:
"What are all these things? Never seen them before..."
I eventually realize the following:
a. For some reason, there's that clock from the tutorial of the demo of DROD3 I'm using.
b. There's four different colours of potions, most of which I've never seen before. [Read: half].
c. The one nearest me is a speed potion.
d. I should probably right-click on everything I don't recognize.
e. I need to move SE for a while, then E.
f. I'm probably not cut out for this level.
g. I've seen those 'Adder' things in the tutorial, but I forget what they do.
h. There's a trapdoor gate in the room.
i. I really need to figure out what the Clone Potion does. Exactly.

So... help?
With the following:
a. Why is there a clock?
b. What exactly does the Clone Potion do?
c. How do I kill the Adders? Not generally, in this specific room.
d. Should I stop playing Advanced Concepts right now and go back to something easier?
d2. If so, what? I'm not sure which of the ones on the newbie guide to do.
d3. If I switch holds, will I lose my progress in Advanced Concepts?

Ouch! I understand this might be a bit hardcore :) This is "Advanced Concepts" meaning you have to know somewhat how the basics works. Nevertheless it's a good place to learn after some info about what the stuff does.

a) The clock is for the adders. All serpents moves after a certain movement schedual, switching their pattern every five moves. Either they prefer to chase you in an up/down direction when you stand vertically away, or they prefer to chase you in a left/right direction. There is a serpent clock, by the way. It's really nifty, and it shows which way serpents will chase you. I think it's pretty easy to find if you use the search function.

b)A clone potion places a duplicate of yourself. You can switch between yourself and the duplicate by pressing Tab, or by clicking the Beethro you want to move. Monsters will always chase the active Beethro.

c) You kill adders by striking their head with your sword repeatedly.

d) Well... As I've already said, you could stop playing it. But I think you'll be able to do it, with the help of some hints. It depends on where in KDD you are stuck. I wouldn't have managed this room when I was really new to DROD.

Well, thanks to your help, I got this far:
(see attached).

Now, I have three more questions...
a. Where does the mimic go?
b. Where does the decoy go?
c. Is it still winnable?

Now if only I didn't need all that help... I'll get better over time. Thanks, now to move on to the next room.
