Welcome to the Infinite Hold Project. So long as I continue to update regularly, the most recent version of the hold should be attached to this post.

Rules:

Current version has 3 rooms and 6 voids. Go for it!

Oh, and a little note so that copyright is perfectly clear: All rooms are the property of the people who submitted them, unless otherwise stated, and used with permission.

You can attach your hold files by click "Browse" in the "Attach File" Section (that is just under the place where you write for a new message) and then choose them.

Okay, I can't guarantee it will be fitting and stuff, since I am not sure I understood the rules completely, but here you go. I hope it serves as a good base for an infinite hold, you can do practically everything with that (at least I would). Feel free to change the last message to be more plot-fitting or something. I will make sure to come back and contribute more :).

Since this is going to be so mega-big, I have a suggestion. In some rooms, there could be access to one - or many, for extra exploring fun - Warp levels. These, using the magic of varibles, allow you to zip around to visit new paths, without having to walk. This also means, if a one way path is made, there can be a way back. Feel free to think about this and say what you think.

Okay, example time!

Player gets to room A and clears it. This lets him take a staircase to level B. This has a path to rooms A, C, D and E. Now if Player clears room D, he can go to level B, and use it a passage to room A, but not rooms C and E as they are unclear. This can be done with varibles, or good clean monster killing action.

... Right... or it could also be done with a script and Go To Level Entrance and Questions rather than building a whole new level.

Player gets to room A and clears it, then clears room D. Player can then step on a highlighted tile, and will be asked where he wishes to go, from room D or A, but C and E don't show up as options. Then he is taken there.

You misssed 3 voids! In the entrance, the rivers can be crossed by diagonal movement, adding 2, and this also means the other edge of 1S can be reached, adding another.

No two rooms by the same architect can be closer than 2 traversable spaces away (that is, they cannot connect or stem from the same room).
I want to ask about clarification of the rules. Let's assume such situations:

X - My level
. - Not my level

1: XX
2: X.X
3: X..X
4:
 X
X.
5:
 X
 .
X.

I know for sure situation 1 is disallowed, but what about the rest?

1, 2, and 4 are forbidden... so long as there are passages between all the rooms. 1 could even be permitted if there was a wall between them.

To put it another way, if you can get to both of them from the same room (in one room-traversal), they cannot be by the same person.

There's a slight problem of room border mismatch with an already created room... I have added a bit of water and decoration to correct this.

Edit: Room installed. Two voids have been spawned.

Thelas, could you be so kind as to make your room more fitting with the ones around it? I think the hold as a whole would really profit from that.

I hadn't figured out how to fix the graphics... if someone else can, I have no objections, but I'm not sure how to.

Well, what you do is use the different sorts of floors you can find on the tab with the floors and walls on it... grass was what was mostly used.

And also, don't have that river end smack at the edge of the room, out of the blue. Try to be creative with it :).

Oh, and they blew it up.

You added the room with Beethro's house? Because I don't think roaches could do that. Goblins might if they somehow got some bombs though... I know we don't really want a fight with goblins at the very beginning, but perhaps I could help and add some goblins running away? :P

"You monsters! You blew up my house!"
"Oh no! It's Beethro!"

EDIT: oops double post!
