[GAME IS CURRENTLY IN ALPHA STAGE]
Assasination, Romance, Action, Smiting. A classic DROD story.
This is the story about Dreygo the Stalwart's wife being assasinated. Dreygo the Stalwart killing the assasin (who isn't actually the assasain :huh). Dreygo the Stalwart being locked away. Dreygo the Stalwart finding his way out.
Hope you like it!
"...feedback is a crucial element of creation..."

Also if you want to be canonically correct Stalwarts do not have numbers preceding their names since they do not come from the Empire, you would be better off giving him a name like Tendry or Beethro if you want to follow the DROD naming rules.

I only want to say that the hold as it is now, is too small to really give good comments. You need more rooms. It would also be nice if you can fill in some of the current rooms with "obstacles". Some of the rooms look empty to me.

I like the first level, it could use more, but it took me a while to notice certain things. But I don't see the point of all the doors with only keys behind them on the second level. Are you planning on adding something in between?

First of all, thank you for the feedback.

Deftriver, saving the hand bomb is necessary for the next few levels.

Nuntar, i am going to add to this hold, so in the end it wont be a "little hold". Ad i do not know how to script a high score checkpoint, could you help me? And i will also put in some autosaves.

Sorry Ezlo, didn't know about the Empire/Number/Stalwart thing, i will try and think up a name.

Mxvladi, i am glad you found my "accidental" secret, the reason for yellow keys behind yellow doors is that you already have keys from the past to open them, and at the end of the level doing it this way leaves you with just the right amount of keys.

Tim, I agree with you completely, my rooms look as bare as a babys bottom. The reason for this, however, is because i have just started the sort of what you would call "skeleton grid". Meaning i'm only putting in KEY elements. Such as (the pun before), KEYS doors, swords, sheilds and stairs. I will implement decorations a bit later.

Deftriver (again), as i said to Tim, i am only adding KEY elements.

I will keep you posted with updates further on. Again thank you for the feedback :)

That still doesn't make sense. If I have one yellow key, open a yellow door and the only thing behind it is another yellow key then when I leave I still have one yellow key. So why have doors that only have one of the same thing it takes to open it behind them?

Thank you, i think i prefer DROD: RPG than the original because i am better at making Level Sets than holds.

I've played through the hold now most of the versions and it has definitely gotten better but I think that it is a little empty with very little choice. I'd like to know if the stairs on level three(entrance) meant to go back to level one? Also was there any time you were supposed to kill the rock golem? Because it is easy enough to beat the hold without the attack and defense gems. I'd like to continue playing your hold if you make some more levels.

Today was the last day of school for two weeks. This means that i will be mosting on this board a lot more regulaurly and upload versions mmore frequently. Although usually I would complete the level before uploading this I am tired and this is what i have done so far, expect more soon.

...You should complete the level before uploading it.

You do not have a deadline with this project. Right now you're sort of checking with your boss about every sentence that you make on a business proposal.

Here is the 8th and final version, now all that is needed is voice acting.

You're finished? I'm not so sure about the last set of changes, why the four pickaxe's? I use one so as to avoid some hot tiles, but can't figure out the other three or the bomb.

I like that you're going with a story, but it's really pretty short.

I'm just writing because these linear holds generally aren't very well liked. You've made a lot of improvements from the first version, so I think just keep working on the story and try to make more in the way of strategy.

There isn't a room at Trapped to Toil at Death: Once East, even though it's possible to reach the right edge of the room by opening the greckle gate and using one of your four pickaxes to bypass the Goblin King.

The staircase in Trapped to Toil at Death: The Entrance ends the hold, even though it's quite easy to get to by using one pickaxe.

There's no room at On The Way, To Getting Out?: Twice South, despite the player's ability to get there with (again) a pickaxe.

Also, does the Goblin King have some sort of teleportation powers or something?

It certainly seems like your hold needs more testing, and a consensus of puzzle and layout finalization before the voice acting recording starts, but it's your decision in the end.

Plus, there's plenty of room for pickaxe abuse. I used some to bypass the greckle gates by the shield, the hot tile spiral, and a couple of other places.

Level 4: 2W is not the way to make a trapdoor puzzle. It's just tedious to clear the room and there's no puzzle to it. Instead, how about randomly changing a number of squares to pit or wall so it's harder to work out a route to step on all the trapdoors?

I was hoping I'd get to kill the Slayers with the bomb! :lol

Thus it may be tedious, but i will live with that (even if it costs me something) Nuntar, did you get my PM. I sent you the lines so you could see which one you like better. Please tell me if you are not going to do it.

But even a British person (i.e., Nuntar) would pronounce the R in "stalwart."
I'd say the word was pronounced "stoll-whirt."
