Welcome to the Game of Empathy. It's like word association, except scored. I'll post a word. You post 10 unique words in an unhidetime that are related to that word. You get 1 point for each person that posted each word you posted, including yourself... the points do nothing for you until further notice.

First word: DROD (what else?)

Edit: It's me... from the future. Specifically, Round 4. I come bearing information vital to people's convenience.

I hereby declare that from this point forward, the player responsible for administrating each round, including the choice of word and deadline, and the responsibility of record keeping (unless someone else fulfills that responsibility) shall be the player who scored the most points in the last round.

Starting this round, none of your ten guesses may start with the letter B. Guessing any such word will make you receive negative points. Regular scoring rules apply; if multiple people guess the same b- word, the word will be worth that many points negative.
If you have already posted a guess in the active game that violates this rule, you are of course allowed to edit your post to remove it, provided you do so before the end of the round.

Depending on how many people play, tabulating the answers could be a huge task. If we ask someone (Jutt?) nicely, they might build a utility that could do it automatically.

Yes. Many points are useless but a positive status symbol.

Two things:

1. Try it before saying it doesn't work. The unhidetime tag understands several formats.

2. That's probably the exact code Robobob used in the hidden statement right below it, so I think you can assume it works just by that.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to say anybody was wrong. I just wanted to give out a code snippet that people could copy and paste in order to play this round of the game. Unhidetime tags can get confusing - I sure as heck know they confuse me. The date/time formatting I used is what shows up when you "quote reply" on one of these things.

Hmm... Actually, manually it'll just take two passes. One to tabulate word scores, one to tabulate player scores.

Here's a precount of the words. There were total of 11 players and 109 words, because someone only submitted 9 :)

I put singulars and plurals together, but did not fold smiting and smite or cockroach and roach. That is a decision for someone else to make. And I dunno what to do with "Really Big Sword", which is actually three words, if one gets all technical!

Some stats:
11 forum users have scores higher than 0.
11 people played this round.
Beethro, with 11, was the highest scoring word this round. It's ridiculous. It's not even funny.
There were 29 singletons.
No words scored 6 or 8.
Rheb is in last place with 33 points.
lopsidation is in first place with 57 points.

And one last thing: Let's make this more interesting, and give points a purpose. From now on, if you have 100 points, you may create, amend, or repeal a rule. You may not then do so again until you have attained 100 more points. How does that sound?

This isn't official practice yet, but... Rheb, being in last place, gets to decide the next word to match, and the next time limit (should be more than a day).

Deadline for this decision is in negative 785 weeks, 4 days. After that, first come first serve.
