If he'd changed his clothes on the High Path, he might have embarrassed the Mothingness. After all, one would have no privacy while changing.

Then again, though, Beethro attending to other necessities on the High Path would probably have upset the Mothingness for similar reasons, and perhaps worse. So maybe that argument is a little weak.

Well, here's the information the bar actually gives when clicking on it:

The Winter 2009 SMS will contain two DROD 3.2 holds. The holds are by two different architects; one is medium difficult, the other is hard. But in both the holds Beethro is the main character. The two stories take place in two different time frames, and a surprise is the new arch-villan introduced in one hold.
Ah, and also, in one hold, Beethro wears different clothes!
