Alright, so when I go on a vision token, but forget to toggle it off and leave the room, when I return, the token is on, but we can't see through tar anymore, unless one moves on the token twice.

Here's a hold to prove it.

BTW, I have 1.0.2.48.

Bump because this issue has re-appeared in the latest build provided at the top of this board. Tarstuff resets, but the vision token does not.

Either tarstuff should not reset, for consistency with other RPG mechanics, or the vision tokens should reset.

This reappearance was found in both the hold provided above and in The Test of Mind: Sandgust Residence.

For what its worth I am unable to reproduce this bug in Steam 1.2.5.230 and the latest 1.2.6.253. For me the tarstuff correctly maintains its transparency when re-entering the room.

After downloading the latest, 1.2.6.253, this appears to be partially fixed and partially present. The first time you leave the room with the vision token on, the tarstuff will retain its state. The second time and future times, however, the tarstuff will reset even though the token does not.

OK I've done more testing in 1.2.6.260 and can see exactly what the issue is. The see-through status stops being persistent after you have turned off the token once. So if you only ever step on the token one time in each room, it will work correctly, but once you have stepped onto the token more than once, that room will keep reverting back to non-transparency.

This appears to be the case on a room-by-room basis, so stepping on a vision token once in one room, and three times in another, the first room will still work correctly, but the second room will always be back to non-transparency when you revisit it or remotely view it.

Thanks for investigating.

Heh, the issue was that DROD typically uses a byte to store token state, and I expanded that to a 32-bit integer in RPG 1.2 (iirc). The code was still expecting to roll over the byte value to toggle tokens on/off, which won't work anymore.

Fixed in rev 268.

Can confirm the issue is fixed in 1.2.6.272, the state is correctly remembered when toggling the token multiple times. :thumbsup
