How can I start Valor over again .. the Restore only allows you to restore your current room ... so, what is the secret to starting Valor (or any level over again? And, by the way, I can't be in one room and start another room over again. Is this by your plan?

I think the only way to restart the first level is to start a new game. After the first level though you can restart to the beginning of any level. There are also a few other places where it autosaves, but in general try and save a lot, labeling well, in order to restore. This is completely new and not too much like old versions of DROD

Just in case you didn't already know: the save system is now completely different. There are auto-saves at a few points, but you generally need to save manually with F2 and F5 (the quicksave).

Just to make sure I understand what you all are saying, you need to use F2 or F5 before you start a room. Otherwise you will have to start the level all over again. So, if there are 20 rooms and you solve 19 and then can not get through the 20th you have to start the "game" or the "level" again? And how can you start a level again, e.g. the "Valor" level?

Let me tell you about 3 more keys then.

F9: Try it by pressing F5, then move around, then press F9.

F3: Try it by pressing F2, then move around, then press F3.

F1: Press F1 and use your mouse to click around.

Note: You can press F2/F5 at any time in the game, and it will store the game at exactly that moment.

Hummm .... lots of keys

I did manage to an auto-restore that was at the entrance to Valor. So, screwing up and getting your HP to low to continue you have to start the level over again. You solve 20+ rooms, mess up and have to start level over again. Sort of goes "against the grain" to me. But, hey, its just a game and we have lots of time to try, try again :lol

Well, learning you have to find the HP jars in order to get past some areas. But, it is a trial & error task as you don't know which way to go to get HP to get past to another area.

Nope. You save at the start of the room with F2, picking a name for the save, then you mess up the level, then you restore from the save with F3. Or you quicksave with F5, mess up the level and quickload wih F9. Either one is better than messing up the level and restoring from the autosave!

by second secret room in rule one, do you just mean the entrance to homeland? Cuz I can only find one secret room, the one that is just after the first orb with some potions...just wondering, as I've decided to restart

Nope. There's another secret room, but it needs a special object to get there.

If nothing else helps, this will essentially be unstoppable. Ask if you need to know roughly where any of these objects are.

EDIT: Oh, and one more thing. After equipping your Hook (not grappling hook), your ATK should be around 330. If it is below 320, you might want to restart your game. Why? Because when you get the hook you are sort of *expected* to have over 320 ATK by now.

Identical problem here - in once east there's a potion and a collapsible tile.. no apparent crumbly walls, and a grappling hook can only seem to leap over one square.. what do you do now?

Ah.. I had assumed it was somehow important by reading spoilers. I had found the Wyrmslayer, but somehow I'm lacking a Wyrm to slay.. so I was checking all the secret areas I could find. Heh. Anyone want to give me a spoiler for that? (god I suck at finding secret rooms)

So the second secret in Rule 1 isn't available in the demo? Does it count as a secret? If not, how many secrets per level in the DEMO?
