Well, this is another my hold. It's not that hard, but, hopefully, enjoyable.

Thanks to CSR for testing this hold.
Thanks to Doom and Rabscuttle for making HA review of this hold.
Special thanks to CSR for making grammar/spelling fixes of text of this hold.

This is a moderately tricky short hold, heavy on the trial-and-error style of room. It's not, perhaps, anything particularly special, but those who enjoyed Floor 33 will probably find it worth playing, and it has a couple nice aumtlich and golem puzzles.

Short hold with mostly trial and error type horde rooms.

If you like short, random, frustrating, trial-by-error (=lots of undoing) rooms with badly placed checkpoints, and interesting English, then you'll love this hold.

Otherwise, forget about it.

Disclaimer: I tested this hold with unlimited undo.

Since everyone has already mentioned the weaknesses of this hold, I'll note some of its strengths.

* The story - a gladiator trying to survive increasingly difficult battles with monsters in an arena while the crowd yells stuff at him - is one of mxvladi's best ideas yet. More than in his previous holds, this construct draws the player in.

* Round5 - I really enjoyed the aumtlich round. Planning what to do with only three mirrors before being surrounded by aumtlich was fun.

Nothing much to add here - a short hold of slayer surrounded by monster puzzles. Most rooms have an element of trial-and-error, the wraithwing room seems the most rigid, forcing you into a specific set of moves to survive. Like CSR, I enjoyed the aumtlich room, trying different mirror combinations until I found one that worked.

I enjoy slayer holds and this is a nice short example of that.

My Verdict:

Difficulty: 5.5
Fun: 6

Yeah, that's the hold that made me curious about playing as Slayer. Brutal, I struggled with Round 2, and needed the hint for the wraithwing one, but the other rounds were surprisingly easier.

Short and sweet, albeit the ending could have been more satisfying
(Don't mess with teh Slayer !) :guns
