×I managed to trap tar baby in alcove above snake pit,kill the mama & close all trap doors. How do I trap TB in the trees so I can go south???

× Use your sword to keep the tar baby farther away and use diagonal directions (sword and steps) to your advantage. Roaches if they are blocked from moving diagonal will choose vertical before horizontal.

× With the tar baby in the alcove, face your sword west and stand 2 squares east of him (so your sword is the only thing in between) and walk north until you get to the tree... step northeast, then rotate your sword right once, so it faces northwest, and step north twice, then south once... this should have you on the right-top side of the tree with the tar baby on top-left side. if you step south and then southwest, the tar baby should still be on top of the tree, while you should be below it and you should be able to figure it out from there easily.
