What in tarnation is a Dvora[c,k] keyboard anyway? (yes, I've seen it spelled with a C and a K)
The story goes (though there is some contention on various points) that back when typewriters were invented, Dvorak was a scientist that devised a method to set up the keys so that optimum typing speeds could be reached. Typewriters jammed at high speeds, so Qwerty was developed to slow people down and was used for computers as well when they arrived due to familiarity (a Collingridge dilemma). Apparently Dvorak is still faster. More info on the layout, etc. can be found
here. If you want to go to the effort to relabel your keyboard, change your windows settings in "
Regional and Language Options"
in Control Pannel, and practice, I think it is worth it. I'm a convert.
Sorry about off topic once again, but this topic had digressed to sound effects anyway.
